Deep Maps: an interactive, multi-layered presentation of geographical, social, artificial (really, any kind of) data in virtual space.
An area can be recreated using historical statistics, letters, reports from witnesses, and long gone topography and architecture, sometimes revealing understanding which without the particular assembly and presentation of all the data in the Deep Map would remain unrealized.
These maps are a little dry.
