1500 Bay Road, not Alton (get it right bro, 1500 Alton is Einstein Bagels.)

This thing is driving me nuts. No wonder no one has built it yet.
The model is only part of the challenge.

So what's another 7 hours or so on a project if it means making it a million times better to anyone looking closely enough? There is some point at which simply seeing if I can do something turns into not being satisfied if it's not as perfect as possible. Flamingo Hotel is an excellent example. First of all I miss Bushwick warehouses and can't wait for this to be over, and I think that's why I was okay at first with totally making up a bunch of bullshit on the tower surface because i couldn't find one that was high res, or at the right angle, or whatever… just a bunch of excuses. Take a look at the difference in the two photos below, compared to the actual building.

We're looking at the tower detail here, heavily compressed, and fraudulent.
Authentic details on the tower now. Compared to the actual photo though,
I should add the machine rooms above the blue and pink banners.

Why Was I So Lazy?
It started when I looked at Bing maps, they have a perspective feature which gave me a point of view I hadn't seen… and then it was like pulling at a loose thread. the tower was too high, the details on the wings were wrong, where the wings meet the towers was wrong, there was all kinds of window detail that is really specific and I just fudged it all over the place on the first model.

So i deleted the submission, and now i have a much better looking model - the tower's surface is much less compressed and fugly, and it has the acurate window detail, including the tall vertical column of windows on the interior courtyard side of the tower, and the shorter columns of windows where the wings meet the tower.

I found images on Bing, Google Building Maker satellite photos,
Street View and the Flamingo Hotel website.
And it's sick, but there is still work to be done on this. That's what I mean, it starts with, good enough, and gradually, it turns to, not good enough. I should be done with it tomorrow and I'll get back to working on 220 Ingraham, Bushwick!
