Google releases chunks of satellite photos for people to make buildings with using the Building Maker application. This allows people from all over the globe, these badge and status-hungry geo-modelers, to make models of buildings in places they've never been or seen. Geo-modelers get points for making buildings, some people are in the thousands. The results can be sloppy. The first image below is not a Google released photo. There is no high POV perspective imagery released by Google of Bushwick yet, so it is up to us to build it before the free-for-all. |
